How to apply Bare Minerals Original Foundation & Mineral Veil

My Love for Bare Minerals
Original Foundation

If you have never heard of the revoloutionary makeup that is the
Bare Minerals powder foundation, you probably are thinking "what on earth does swirl, tap, buff mean?" well all will be revealed.....stay tuned....

When I discovered this foundation, i had a eureka moment, where I thought to myself....
"At last.....this is what i have been searching for!"
It only took years of trial and error!! But at least I found it. Better late than never! Yay.
This was a few years ago now, but before this powder foundation I was using all different liquid foundations which I found would irritate my skin, slide off and never stay put all day.
I'd end up with a red, angry, blemish clogged face.

Let's just say... I am so so so glad that this foundation found its way into my life.
My skin looks so much better, no longer gets red, irritated and this lasts all day.
Coupled with the fabulous Mineral Veil (more on that later..) keeps me shine free!

MAC Creme d'nude Lipstick

MAC Lipstick
Creme d'nude
This is a lovely bare nude lip colour.

A neutral beige, that would be great to wear
with a smokey eye or strong eye look.

It's a 'Cremesheen' formula so is a creamy medium level
colour, with a slight gloss finish to it.
Fairly hydrating and creamy.

(Has a sheen to it in the sunlight)

Lovely to wear, lasts well and has a lovely vanilla scent to it like all MAC lipsticks do.

Great for 'everyday' wear or a barely there nude lip colour.

Overall, i really like this shade, it's a nice, neutral beige 'everyday' lip colour.
I also like the creamy formula of the cremesheen MAC lipstick.

Take time for you. Take care and look after yourself.
Thanks for popping by luv acesparklestar xoxo

A Sweet Smile in a tub! Body Shop Sweet Lemon review

Sweet Lemon Body lotion from the Body Shop review

I'm not really one for sweet or strong 'in your face' scents but this sweet lemon body butter from the body shop is divine!
It is just the right citrus zing without the pow! And sweet without the sickly!

Cheekbones in a palette... Sleek Contour Palette Review

Lately I have been trying to master the art of contouring
(creating cheekbones where they don't exist...well they do! just in hiding!)

I have found the perfect product to help me do that ...Sleek's Contouring & blush palette.

This is in the shade light.

It's a 3 in 1 palette that contains Bronzer, Blush and Highlight.

Thought i'd share some swatches as to how lovely these shades are.....

Real Techniques LTD Edition Duo Fibre Brushes!!

On a recent trip to Boots, I spotted a new addition to the real techniques brush family!!
I excitedly grabbed and paid..........couldn't wait to get home to try them out!!

Duo fibre brushes which means, they apply the products lightly, enabling controlled and buildable application. Powder won't look heavy or caked on, gives an airbrushed finish.

My Star Soap & Glory Make-Up Must haves!

Soap & Glory Must Have Make-up!!

I have been a loyal fan of Soap and glory, ever since the 'hatbox' gift set many christmas's ago!
Been hooked from then on.
Love the smell and feel of the body products
but also use them well...basically because they work!

Star faves are:
Flake Away body scrub, Clean on me shower gel, righteous body butter moisturiser, hand food hand cream to name but a few!
Then came the cosmetics......below are a few of my firm favourites and my reasons why.

Badger Balms to buy in the UK! At last!

Imagine my delight when I by accident stumbled upon the badger balms when browsing
Previously, as far as I am aware this brand wasn't available to UK.

So I happily added
'Cheerful Mind', 'Tension Soother', 'Yoga & Meditiation', 'Joint rub' & 'Sleep balm'
to my on-line basket.

I blinked & they arrived (not literally!).

I was so pleased, just the tins are enough to put a smile on your face let alone the wonderful aromas when you pop them open.

They are basically portable aromatherapy, great for on the go popping into your bag & bedside table for when you awake at 2am and your mind just wont be quiet!!

Boldly Nars! Velvet Matte lip pencil Mysterious Red Review

Boldly going.... where I have previously been too nervous to!!!

I am a 'play it safe' neutral lipstick kinda girl.
When sorting through my makeup collection i realised i have far too many nude and light pink shades.
But it's time to step out of my comfort zone and try bolder and vibrant what it ends up on my teeth or smudged all over my face, so what! I'm not a celeb, the pics won't end up in heat magazine.

So here i go......
The lipstick that caught my attention is the
Nars Velvet matte lip pencil in their new shade (Autumn 2013)
 'Mysterious Red'
This is basically a matte lipstick in the form of a pencil, which makes for ease of applying and for touchups on the go. Fairly fool proof upon applying, as it's a pencil outline the lips then colour in the rest.

Crayola colouring in for adults!

As you can see from the swatches the colour is a gorgeous deep red colour, that doesn't wash you out.
