Clinique Sonic Face Brush - My thoughts

My thoughts on Clinique's Sonic Face Cleansing Brush.

Before Christmas over on twitter I was lucky enough to win a competition I took part in for Clinique's new sonic brush from Clinique.

I have given it a fair trial and so wanted to share my thoughts on this cheaper alternative to the clarisonic.

First of all having never tried the Clarisonic I can't really make a fair comparison but what I can do is tell you what iIlike about the Clinique brush and why.

I love that it has a 30 seconds switch off. Without this feature I know I would forget and end up over scrubbing my face not intentionally of-course!! So thank goodness for the switch off.

The brush has an angle top bit to make getting in the crooks by your nose much easier. It really feels like it is deep cleaning all the dirt and yucky stuff. The whole unit is sleek and nice to hold whilst is waterproof - just in case!

The trick with any type of brush cleanser is to build up gradually, you don't want to end up looking red raw.
I started off using it once a week then graduated to every few nights, which I feel is enough for my sensitive skin to give it a good clean without over doing it.

Oh and my last favourite thing about this is I feel like I am using a giant toothbrush... but on my face!!
And with that incite-ful knowledge I will love you and leave you!

Maybelline Sensational Mascara - Benefits Roller Lash Dupe

New in from Maybelline comes their Sensational Mascara!
Maybelline Sensational Mascara - Benefits Roller Lash Dupe

A lash multiplying mascara. Making lashes look visibly multiplied and fuller.
And a fantastic dupe for Benefit's Roller Lash Mascara!

When Benefit released their new mascara as a sample with elle magazine, I loved it. Then I heard there was a dupe for less than half the price! (an added bonus included in boots 3 for 2) I snapped it up so here are my thoughts...

First of all I adore the packaging. Maybelline's 'The Rocket' mascara is my absolute drug-store favourite and this has similar curvy packaging with the added sexiness of rose gold instead of blue. Have to say as far as packaging can be sexy this hits the spot and does catch your eye on the make-up stand.

The wand is a plastic curved design. It has lots of bristles that fan out, ensuring as you apply all your lashes are covered and get combed at the same time.

The wands are very similar. Benefit's Roller Lash is the top wand with Maybelline's offering the wand at the bottom.

As for the actual mascara I'll let you be the judge here are my before and after photos:

I have very straight lashes and always need to use eyelash curlers, but even without the curlers this mascara still performs quite well on my lashes. I am seriously impressed with the staying power of this mascara. My lashes looked lengthened and much thicker and stay that way till I remove when I get home. I didn't experience flaking and have to say I really like the wand as it really helps to separate and comb through the lashes individually.

The only thing is, I wish that this came in waterproof, only because I prefer to wear waterproof mascara on the account of the unpredictable weather here in the UK.

Verdict: I have been reaching for this mascara over the rocket, so it seems this is my new favourite providing it's not raining outside!
Have you tried Maybelline's new mascara, what did you think?

This months Glamour Magazine comes with a Nails Inc Nail polish!! Nov 2014

November's Glamour magazine
(Claire Danes on the front cover)
comes with a free Full Size Nails Inc Nail Varnish!!

Choice of 4 Shades created exclusively for Glamour:
Wigmore Street, Tate, Marylebone Mews, Hanover Square.

Being me... I picked up two!
(Only because the other 2 shades weren't in stock at that newsagents,
when I see them I shall definitely be getting those too!!)

UPDATE: Found the other two nail varnishes, and have added more photos!!

Nails inc make such great quality nail varnishes, glossy finish and take a while to chip...oh and retail at £11 each!

I got 'Tate' which is a gorgeous deep red colour and 'Wigmore Street' which is a deep plum purple with a tinge of navy blue to it shade.

Then i found the other two shades:
Marylebone Mews which reminds me of Nails Inc 'Potchester Square' a grey / beige / lilac shade which is a lovely neutral shade for everyday or when you're not sure what to wear!!
Hanover Street is a very dark deep burgandy with a deep plum colour to it.

So which shade will you choose?!!

All these shades really are perfect for Autumn, as-well as being great quality!
Such a steal for £2 for a full size Nails inc polish that normally sells for £11!!

Tips for the extra magazine: I like to rip and cut out inspiration then make a sort of scrapbook collage! So when i look at it I get inspired for blog posts or make-up ideas and looks! Or have a collection of articles I enjoyed.

Now to decide which one to wear first....

Managed to get a sample of the new foundation from YSL fusion ink.
I was matched to shade BR20

The counter assistant gives you enough for a good few days of testing.
Allowing you to try the foundation in 'real life' different lighting and of course allows you to see how it feels to wear it all day.

Foundations especially high-end ones can be pricey so is always best to be sure before you take the plunge.

I have been using this foundation for a few days and i have to say i really like it.
Feels really light on the skin, matte finish but not drying a ever so slight sheen. Gives a nice finish to the skin. Smells really nice and hardly feels like you are wearing any foundation, it's that sheer but gives good coverage at the same time. A big thumbs up from me.

So this foundation is definitely going on my wish list.
