When per-using boots as I do, I noticed that a new gloss stick hit the stands of soap and glory, possibly to replace the old gloss sticks as I couldn't see them. This at first made me sad because I love the gloss sticks so much and always have one in my bag or close to hand. 

But then I spotted this new shade 'Purple Rain' and at the bargain price of £3.50 I was sold!

Sexy mother pucker gloss sticks are so moisturising and provide just enough pop of colour. They aren't tingly like the lip-glosses and feel really comfortable to wear.

Nudist is my all time favourite of the old version and I'm happy to say that they still have that shade in the new version. 

As-well as being lovely to apply it smells gorgeous too, a vanilla cupcake scent!
I love the new slanted tip, makes it easy to apply.

So on to the swatches;

On the lips:

As you can see this is a gorgeous berry plum tone, perfect for autumn. Gives enough colour without it looking too bright and in your face, so if you are a bit scared of colour then these are perfect. 
They are lovely and moisturising and apply like a dream, in fact I can apply without using a mirror.

Unlike traditional lip-glosses your hair doesn't get stuck to this in the wind and it doesn't feel gloopy or stick to wear.

I have been wearing this non stop since I bought it and I have barely made a dent so I can see this lasting a while even though it seems to be a smaller tube, it just means it will now also fit in my coat pocket!

Having seen a raving review about this lipstick over on the lovely Kimmy's blog 'the beautyisles' 

I knew I needed it in my collection!

Debenhams were having a 10% off beauty event. 

Into my online basket it went. I am so glad I did as it is such a pretty shade.

This is a Amplified Creme lipstick that MAC describe as a "burst of plum". 

I agree it's a lovely plum however leaning more towards a pinkier shade of plum rather than a deeper shade of plum that springs to mind. I can see this being one of my favourite everyday 'go-to' lipsticks. Perfect for both day but equally as gorgeous for a evening too.

Amplified Creme formula is a creamy pigmented lipstick with a sheen slight gloss finish, comfortable and moisturising to wear. Giving a good colour pay-off.

This lipstick also pairs really nicely with my MAC Soar Lip-liner pencil.

Craving & Soar Lining the lips.

In the spirit of stepping out of my comfort zone I bought this a while ago, when Debenhams had their £5 off all YSL lipsticks. 

Not had the courage to wear it outside the house just yet but it is such a pretty colour and I look and feel fabulous ... even if I am doing the dishes!!

It's not one that I would normally choose and had I not done my research before clicking 'buy' then I might have just chickened out ... looking at the purple bullet! 
But I researched the swatches on google! So glad this is now in my possession - it is so pretty!

 

As you can see it is a lilac purple in the bullet, once on is such a lovely shade of violet. 

With it being a rouge volupte shine is lovely and creamy with a shine to it, unfortunately doesn't last as long on the lips but with shades and packaging this stunning I don't mind having to re-apply!

Swatched on my hand, as you can see it has a glossy sheen and finish to it.

Such a pretty and unique shade of lipstick to wear!!

Lancome Rouge In love Lipstick Review 379N

I received a goody bag 'Gift with purchase' from Debenhams recently when I made an order. This included trial sample sizes of make-up and fragrance.

I love these, as you get to try out products you never normally would choose for yourself. Allowing you to sometimes step out of your comfort zone!

Mine included a mini Lancome Rouge in Love lipstick. 

Having never tried any Lancome make-up  at all, it's not something I would have picked for myself. 

But oh my! it was love at first swipe!! 

This lipstick is so creamy yet pigmented and hydrating - all at the same time. 

The wear time for this is incredible - I put it on in the afternoon and it was still there come bedtime. I actually needed to remove it with my bioderma micellar water! Never really needed to do that before?!

Like with most lipsticks, they fade during the day through wear / drinking & eating, they end up fading whilst usually leaving an bold outline for all to see. 

This lipstick seems to somehow fade evenly and leaves a lovely all over stain on the lips.

The shade I was sent 379N looks a very very scary shade in the bullet! 

Would not have even looked twice at this colour. Once on it is an intense plum-y-purple shade which then fades down to a very pretty berry shade.

Very fitting for Autumn and I have been wearing this non stop (even doing housework!!) ... to the point where it broke in half!! So I'm off now to google how to fix a broken lipstick. I know its only a sample size but I love it so much!! Such a different shade to anything I have worn before!

That's it I'm utterly hooked and Lancome in love with these lipsticks!!

My MAC Lipstick Birthday haul

Last Saturday saw my birthday. I am yet another year older and of course wiser! Hmmm!

Headed straight for MAC with my birthday cash and here is what I chose ....

Happy-Go-Lucky, Flat-Out-Fabulous, Impassioned
MAC Lipsticks

Impassioned Lipstick

I chose this because it is unlike any colour I have. It's a red-y-pinky pop of colour. 

Mac describe this as a 'Amped up Fuchsia'

Amplified Creme lipstick. Lovely and creamy to apply with a good colour pay-off.

Flat-Out-Fabulous

This is my first ever 'Retro Matte' formula. Matte lipsticks can be quite drying and my lips are rarely chap free! Since using Nuxe reve de miel lip-balm, my lips have been much more nourished, hence why I took the plunge and opted for this 'Retro Matte'.

I thought, if I don't get on with a matte finish i'll just add a lip-gloss or Papaya Gold paw paw balm over the top to change it up and add a sheen.

Flat-Out-Fabulous is a bright Plum fuchsia, tinged with pink, with a retro matte finish.

A 'Retro Matte' formula is a matte lipstick only matte-er! 

Like i said can be a little drying and settle into and chapped lines so prep is essential before hand. Lip-balm is a must.

Flat-Out-Fabulous is the middle swatch. 

Happy-Go-Lucky Lipstick

This one I chose partly because..well I love the name! but also because I was after a bright hot pink. 

It was a toss-up between this or candy yum yum. 

I chose happy-go-lucky for it's amplified creme finish. Colour with a creamy sheen finish to it. 

So if you are looking for a candy yum yum colour pay-off that's not a matte finish this 'happy-go-lucky' is the one for you. 

With it's amplified creamy formula and great colour pop!

Think 'Impassioned' and 'Happy-go-lucky' are really lovely brights perfect to wear for summer. 

'Flat-out-fabulous' will be a lovely plum-fuchsia for Autumn.

Forgot to mention MAC lipsticks have a gorgeous vanilla scent and taste!

YSL Rouge Volupte Silky Lipstick #17 Red Muse Swatches & Review

Passing through House Of Fraser spotted a half price sale at the YSL counter.

Saw this little gem in the sale.

Been wanting to try these lipsticks for sooo long, however could not justify the price. 
Half price is do-able, in fact less than a MAC lipstick.

I picked up....

#17 'Rouge Muse' - Red Muse 

To start with the packaging is so pretty and is definitely a high end luxury item!
The gold casing as well as the logo embellishment make this lipstick stunning to look at.
Not to mention very eye-catching on my dressing table too! 

The formula is so incredibly buttery soft and creamy to apply. It has such a delicious fruity smell and taste. 
Feels lovely and hydrating, like silk on the lips.

A good few hours of wear. I find with it being a silky finish doesn't last as long as say my matte lipsticks. However this doesn't matter to me as I just re-apply.
17 Red Muse

This shade is a rich deep red with a silky glossy finish.

Such a bold colour, an absolute delight to wear. 
Makes me feel so special when wearing!!
Ssshhhh!! Nobody needs to know I got it half price!

I thoroughly enjoyed this Disney film Maleficent. Angelina Jolie was spot on. Her lipstick was flawless throughout!! Sorry but as a beauty addict it was the first thing I noticed!! 

Having grown up watching the original Sleeping beauty it was refreshing to see the other side of the story.

Don't want to say too much as this will spoil it for those of you still to see it. But in my humble opinion it is definitely worth seeing.

Can't wait for it to come out on blu-ray so I can watch it again!

Porchester Square Gel Nails Inc review

'Porchester Square'

Really like the finish and formula on the new gel effect polishes. The wide brush makes it easy to apply and I find 2-3 coats is enough to give my nails a opaque strong colour.

With this Gel formula I find I tend not to need a top coat as the finish is a nice subtle sheen that does seem to last a good 4-5 days on me.

Porchester Square is a lovely everyday nude beige. 

Muted & neutral, really is suitable for all occasions and suits all outfits.

If i'm ever not sure which colour to wear on my talons this is my go to colour. 

Contains Placticiser technology, meaning no uv needed to create a salon gel effect.

A shiny gel gloss finish has the desired effect of plumping the nails, giving them a nice sheen.

I get about 4-5 days wear, before chips get the better of me and I need to reapply.

Highly recommend this gel nail varnish from Nails Inc such a fab colour to suit every mood you're in.

Have you tried any of the other gel colours from Nails Inc? The purple or pink one looks nice. Any you would recommend?

Urban Decay Super Saturated Lip Colour Pencil 'Love-Child' Review

So on my last trip to Debenhams I was browsing the beauty hall, as I love to do! Stopped at Urban Decay to swatch their Naked lip-glosses. They are a fairly new release and hadn't chance to see what they were like....

Long story short I left the counter with a Super Saturated High Gloss Lip Pencil Stick! 

Don't know how that happened... as I already have my Soap & Glory Gloss sticks I love and adore, as well as my Nars one in Mysterious red!!

I'm normally quite good when it comes to shopping at beauty counters, I know what I'm going for. Am not normally easily swayed but this day, either the beauty assistant was on her game or I was off mine!! 

Anyway having said all of that....I'm really glad I bought it. It is such a pretty pink, so creamy and easy to apply, even without a mirror.
